Factors To Consider When Buying A Large Picture Frame

Does buying large picture frames really matter when it comes to portraying your valuable photos? Most people think so and equate large with being visible and obvious. They see a large ornate frame made from silver or gold and immediately think that it is the perfect container to hold that precious picture at home.

That may be so, but not taking into account some considerations will lead to disappointment. A large size is not always good in some instances if you don't take into account the size of the picture or how it will be displayed in a room or office. Proper setting of the picture into the frame as well as the arrangement in its location must also be considered in order to present it well.

Having the photo professionally framed is the best solution. And if this is not possible, then measure the photo and know its dimensions beforehand. Also, taking that particular photo with you as you hunt for that perfect frame will lessen the mistake of getting the wrong size frame.

Large picture frames come in a variety of sizes. Two sample large size frames is a 12.7 x 17.8 cm that can hold a 5" x 7" photograph and an extra large frame of 18 x 13 cm for a 7 x 5 inch photo size. Extra trims like sterling silver or decorations with swarovski crystals can make the frame extra bigger in proportions. Simple large frames made from wood are widely available and are the most popular types. Prices start around ten to hundreds and even thousands of U.S dollars for the more rare and expensive materials.

A large size frame is good when your main focus is the picture image within, to bring out its full beauty outward. Simply getting or buying a large size for its frame's sake is not necessarily good unless that is your main focus and reason for getting it. Picture frames contain, present, and store photos to their best potential. Considering the size and the location and how you want it displayed in a room or office will make choosing and getting large picture frames much easier to understand and use.

Redo or reset picture frames can be expensive yes. Good thing if your rich and price is no option. If you're on a budget, then be careful and bring the large photo or painting to the frame shop or measure it carefully so you can give the right info.

I agree that just because the frame is large doesn't make it good for first impressions or display. Location of the frame is important to know so you can really highlight the photo or painting in the frame at its best. I found my large frame at Frames by Mail.

My uncle was so excited to frame his 'rich' image portrait that he didn't consider size and location and was greatly disappointed when the silver oranate frame that was so heavy couldn't be opened to fit his picture. The frame clashed greatly with his office and looked really ugly. He had a pro come in and redo everything.

I'm reading the sizes mentioned and they just confuse me. I think I'll just bring the photo to the photo gallery shop and have them resize it and frame it from there. So many large frame choices but I want to be careful and have the frame turn out good and last longer.

Have the photo frame professionally made can be expensive as not only materials but service fees are included. And if you want them to ship the frame to you, that will be cost extra. But you can't beat a good fit that will last longer when a frame is professionally made.
